Chicago Darkroom

The Midwestern Academy of Modern Art (MAMA) is a not-for-profit community darkroom that encourages expression in the photographic arts by giving its members access to a wet darkroom.
This new darkroom is a first in the city for black & white printing, giving artists the opportunity to pursue wet darkroom processes in a field that is being taken over by digital technology.
With its location in Wicker Park, close to the El stop, MAMA provides a much needed resource to artists who don’t have access to a darkroom anywhere in the city.
